As Group Director of the Architectus Communities portfolio, Mark is responsible for driving the national strategy, growth and leadership development of the Education, Public and Urban Futures sectors. With qualifications spanning architecture, landscape architecture and urban design, Mark has driven strategic analysis, briefing, design, and delivery of many significant city-shaping projects.

In education Mark brings considerable experience in steering the design of important tertiary, state and independent school projects. He has led the Architectus team in the delivery of over 29 schools, receiving the Victorian Schools Design Awards for two consecutive years and the coveted AIA Henry Bastow Award for the Clendon Centre at Loreto. Tertiary projects led by Mark include numerous large-scale projects for RMIT such as the institution’s Social Innovation Precinct, Bundoora Master Plan, and Vietnam Master Plan.

In the Public sector Mark is known for strategic front-end thinking in the brief development and business case phases, with projects such as Shepparton Law Courts demonstrating how lateral thinking in the earliest phases can deliver real value to clients.

Mark has a first-hand understanding of specific issues faced during the design and delivery of complex urban developments. City-shaping projects that have benefitted from Mark’s cross-discipline expertise include Sydney Metro City and Southwest, the Melbourne Metro Rail Infrastructure Alliance, Suburban Rail Loop and Melbourne Airport Rail.

An engaging leader, Mark knows how to build team momentum throughout large-scale, complex projects. He is exceptionally skilled in client and stakeholder engagement, believing multilateral collaboration underpins successful design journeys. He consistently delivers integrated and efficient outcomes that represent the best value for clients
