Barrack Place

Barrack Place

Barrack Place is an 18-storey A-Grade commercial address at the gateway to the emerging western corridor of Sydney’s CBD.

The precinct bounded by York, King, Kent and Erskine Streets includes several significant heritage items and retains elements of the traditional warehouse quarter of Central Sydney.

Architectus’ design responds to this rich and diverse context through careful consideration of the ground plane, street wall, podium elements and adjacent buildings.

An elegant glazed tower form is articulated as four independent tower volumes and rises above a robust brick podium which occupies the entire site.

A fine grain network of laneways defines the highly permeable ground plane with through-site links, boutique commercial and small retail tenancies.

Barrack Place is the first building in Australia to receive WELL Core and Shell Gold Precertification and Platinum rating from the the International WELL Building Institute™ (IWBI™) and has achieved 6 Star Green Star Office Design v3 certification from the Green Building Council of Australia.
