20 May 2019

Architectus celebrates as two projects receive awards at the Property Council of Australia’s Innovation and Excellence Awards.

Bella Vista Gardens and Cranbrook Residences

This project was awarded the ‘Best Retirement Living Development’ at the 2019 Property Council Innovation and Excellence Awards.

The design for retirement living development echoes a high-quality residential environment and sits in sympathy with its surrounding context, providing residents with views to the bush and adjacent Castle Hill Country Club.

The built form, scale and character of the development sets a new benchmark for contemporary independent living units with adaptability requirements discretely integrated into the design, allowing residents to maintain an independent lifestyle in a dignified and elegant manner.

Sunshine Coast University Hospital

Receiving the Best Public Building award at the 2019 Property Council Innovation and Excellence Awards; the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) project is the largest public healthcare facility in Australia to achieve the building industry’s highest honour with a ‘6-star’ rating under the green star system for its design and operation.

It is a world class health care facility, servicing the region as the hub in an integrated network of accessible healthcare. The design creates natural, freely accessible social spaces that takes full advantage of the benign seaside climate. The Sunshine Coast University Hospital offers high levels of public and natural amenity and, through connection to the local community, enhances the experience of patients and staff and contributes to their wellbeing.
